Jamiroqueen 1.0
In 2012, keyboardist Russell Dobda felt a wave of energy while sight reading a Jamiroquai song book that had been sitting on his shelf untouched for years. As a senior member of the Austin Jamband scene seeing a trend of these acts realigning to tribute their inspirations, Russell saw the marketability and genuine entertainment value of tributing a world famous cult classic acid jazz dance band whose multiple number one hits everybody recognizes even if they can't place.
The rest of the band was recruited from other bands in the Austin area. Courtney Gresham was the singer from 2012-2013; she has also appeared at the Big Lebowski bowling party with Dimitri's Ascent. Sean Maher was the founding Guitarist and played through Jamiroqueen 2.0. Finally, Dustin Price played Bass Guitar in the first iteration. He eventually moved on to a career in the Navy to make the world a better place with math.

Jamiroqueen 4.0
Russell & Robin moved to Boulder in 2017. In 2018, they watched their idols, Jamiroquai, play a sold out show in New York City and decided to reform the band in Colorado with a new lineup in 2019.
Josh Brewinski, in search of a Jamiroquai tribute band in which to play bass, called us back and was a great fit. Russ Grabski, a local Jam Band guitarist found us as well. After a little more searching, Andrew Neldon filled the drummer position and Matt Shultz replaced Tony Alexander on percussion, and aux keyboards instead of sax. Suddenly, Jamiroqueen was a band again! |
Jamiroqueen 4.1
After Matt played a show with us, he found the rigors of the position to be daunting as Jamiroqueen's percussionist, string line, horn line, and arpeggiator, which is about 8 musicians in Jamiroquai. He decided to defer his position and we found Tober Schorr to play percussion for Bands on the Bricks in 2019 and aux keyboards in future gigs.

After another realignment of interests, Duncan Cameron replaced Grabski on guitar and Ethan Eckhard came in to replace Andrew. Then, covid happened, so things got delayed again. It was 2020, and we had to find a new bassist to complete the band. In the mean time, work began on our first studio album. Then, the band broke up and everyone moved on.
